In general, the purpose of the research brief project is to provide information to a specific stakeholder or audience.

You need to write a research brief (a research synopsis or summary) of a specific issue or problem - but you do not need to write about potential solutions.

Select sources that appeal to your stakeholders and address their concerns.

You can find an example of a research brief written by a English 102 student in the UWM Digital Commons called “Proposals on the Expansion of Public Transportation”

Be sure to follow the specific directions provided to you by your instructor and if you have follow-up questions, reach out to them.

This FAQ is for Milwaukee campus English 102 students.
