Gender Inclusive Restrooms

Gender inclusive restrooms are located on the 3rd Floor in the West Wing of the Golda Meir Library. See the Transitioning at UWM page for a list information about gender inclusive restrooms on campus.

Accessibility Resources

  • Libraries Contemplative Space- This is a room on the 2nd floor, east wing of the library designed for quiet contemplation and mindfulness. There are cushions, prayer mats, yoga mats, soft lighting, and mindfulness resources.
  • Distraction Free Room (WB48)-The room is intended for accessibility testing, accessible studying, and recording. The Distraction Free Room is not available as a group study room. Reserve this room online or call the 414-229-4673.
  • All of the computers in the 1st floor, West Wing have the Read & Write Gold software and all the Dell computers have the JAWS screen reading software.
  • Small carts and baskets for the easy conveyance of library materials are available inside the entrances of the second and third floor reading rooms in the west wing.

Find Diverse Books and Media

  • Review the DEI Reading Lists guide to discover a wide variety of books and media lists curated by staff on the UWM Libraries Diversity Advisory Committee.
  • Visit the DEI Reading Shelf in the Grind area of the Daniel M. Soref Learning Commons to browse and checkout books for readers of all levels about diversity, equity, and inclusion related topics.
