Which children’s books use different vernacular or dialects? (AAVE, Southern, Eastern, etc)?
The Curriculum Collection includes children’s and young adult fiction and non-fiction, PK-12 textbooks, and reference books. These materials are shelved on the 2nd floor, East wing of the Golda Meir Library.

Helpful resources for African American related dialects and "Nonstandard English" are the Reference books titled Black Books Galore--2 editions (1998 and 2001). The Black Books Galore volumes have different listings of titles, and, if dialect use is heavy throughout the book, the type of dialect will be noted.
For Mexican American, Eastern, Pennsylvania Dutch and other types, the best alternative is to search for the "group label" (Eastern, Mexican American, Korean, etc.) as a keyword in Search@UW and add additional terms like "vocabulary" or "language" to your search phrase.
